For an indulgent Italian meal, locals love Tra di Noi, located in the Malibu Country Mart. This gorgeous yet cozy restaurant serves Italian favorites, like Margherita pizza and fettuccine. The Malibu Country Mart is a relaxed open-air market full of boutiques and other high-end stores and restaurants. More upscale shopping can be found at the Malibu Lumber Yard, a rustic chic open-air retail complex.

Malibu is full of unique and luxurious things to do. For amazing beaches and excellent surf, locals enjoy Malibu Lagoon State Beach, also known as Surfrider Beach. This beach is popular with surfers and has three surfing areas. During large south swells, surfers can ride the waves all the way to the iconic Malibu Pier. The Malibu Pier has a variety of upscale restaurants and shops to peruse. Nearby is the Malibu Bluffs Park. This park has several sports fields and areas for children to play. There is also a whale-watching station that will delight anyone.
 
The charming coastal town also has several exciting events throughout the year to enjoy. The Malibu Chili Cook-Off is a town favorite with games, rides, and vendors set up. There is also the annual Trancas Country Market Summer Concert Series, where musical acts perform. Local creatives also enjoy spending time at the SOHO House offshoot, Little Beach House Malibu, where they can dine and socialize.
